The TF roads on Teide and in the Teno mountains are among the best riding roads in Europe: tight hairpins, long sweepers, barely any traffic if you go early. On a supersport bike that’s a feast — precise, light, instantly on the gas.
But a sport bike only makes sense if you have experience. The surface changes, goats and gravel surprise you, and on tight mountain roads the fun isn’t top speed but the clean line through the bend. Ride defensively. The tarmac forgives less than your home roads do.
Middleweight sport bikes like the Yamaha R7 are available as A2 versions. The big supersport machines need the full A.
