The south is dry. Between November and March daytime highs sit reliably around 22 degrees and rainy days are rare. For a motorcycle or scooter that means conditions you can plan around.
Then there’s the location. From Costa Adeje the TF-1 opens up the whole south, the TF-51 takes you to Vilaflor and Teide, and the TF-47 leads west towards Masca. Three very different day rides, none of them with a long approach.
What to watch out for locally
The hotel zone is densely built and full in winter. Most hotels have no dedicated motorcycle parking, so check with your accommodation where you’re allowed to park before you book.
The road towards Los Cristianos is slow morning and evening. If you want an early start for Teide, leave before eight; after that the TF-1 backs up.
Fuel: the last filling stations before the climb are in Chayofa and on the TF-1. There are none up in the national park.
